The Perry County Revenue Commission is responsible for the collection of taxes in Perry County. This site will include information on how taxes are collected.

Citizens may only pay taxes in person or by mail. Cash, check, and money order are the only acceptable payment methods. Tax payments may also be made by your mortgage companies escrow account. The Revenue Commission will begin accepting online payments and credit/debit cards as a payment method on October 1st, 2022.


NOTICE: Sale of Tax Liens for Collecting Delinquent Property Tax

Title 40-10-180 (b) Code of Alabama The tax collecting official of each county shall have the sole authority to decide whether his or her county shall utilize the sale of a tax lien or the sale of property to collect delinquent property taxes and the method decided shall apply to all property in that county for that year and future years unless notice is given that changes the method as prescribed!

As the tax collecting official for Perry County, please accept this notice as a declaration of my intentions to conduct a Tax Sale for the collection of delinquent taxes for the year 2021-2022 forward.

Title 40-10-180 (c) Code of Alabama requires that this notice be advertised once a week for three consecutive weeks, prior to October 1, 2021, in a newspaper with general circulation of said county, or the tax collecting official’s website.

Tax Sale Information:

Each year, failure to pay Property Tax results in a Tax Lien Auction of the property. For more information about the Tax Lien Auction, please call the Revenue Commissioner's Office at: (334) 683-2229

TAX DEADLINE

Taxes are due on October 1st and delinquent after December 31st. Penalties and interest begin accruing on January 1st.

After March 15th payment of delinquent taxes MUST be paid by CASH, CERTIFIED CHECK, or MONEY ORDER. Personal or business checks will NOT be accepted after that date.

ACCEPTABLE PAYMENT METHODS

Payments are accepted in cash, check, money order, and debit/credit cards.

The Perry County Revenue Commission, in cooperation with the Perry County Commission is excited to announce new methods to pay your taxes this season. Coming on October 1st, we will begin accepting credit and debit cards as a payment method for taxes.

Online property tax payments will be available on October 1st, 2022!
